Question
hi,i am veenu residing in a rented house with my hubby,twins 9 months old and parents-in-law at delhi,india. our first confusion is that whether we should look for a house at ground floor or second floor with roof in builder floors . parents in law are ok with their health but they want to live at ground floor for future health apprehensions but that make our pockets tight for other expenses and investments for us and kids...they just say not impose that and we have checked that 2nd floor is hardly few stairs away,,actually we are living at 5th floor in our society and somethimes when the lift doesn't work it  really take our nerves out...suggest

Answer
Hello Veenu;
I suggest that you not overextend yourself in expenses.  Do what you can afford to do and find a good compromise on the floors.  If the second floor is  less money and not too many stairs that is probably the best solution.  I agree that being on the fifth floor with older adults is probably not a good solution.  I can't speak to the real estate investment potential in Delhi, India so I cannot say if you will see return on your investment if you spend more money.  Do you have real estate brokers there that can advise you?  If so, consult one.  Or, talk to others who are knowledgable about the real estate market in your area.  In addition, look at the long-term investment and economic growth that you may experience in owning a home.  What is your financial future?  Will you see salary increases?  If so, taking on a higher debt may not be so bad.

Good luck and best wishes,

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
