Buying or Selling a Home/Under contract for over 2 weeks
Expert: Dick Dennis - 3/3/2009
QuestionA home in AL we made an offer on has been under contract since Feb 14th, over 2 weeks now. The sellers dropped the price $10K and it went under contract before our next day air offer from TN arrived. I read an earlier answer of yours discussing an incident where a Realtor actually made an offer on a property (not ethical) I guess that is would become an Agency owned property (another form of flipping?). Anyway, you told the person with the question, that this was not ethical and there is no problem with her contacting the seller directly. This is my question... my realtor has told me there is no way to find out who's offer was accepted and what price the seller accepted. I am not really concerened about the price, since our offer was just over asking price, but how to I find out who made the offer? Also, my realtor has emailed me a link to the listing on navica2.net which actually shows the listing UC. It turns out realtor.com does not let the buyer-to-be know these things. Is there anywhere online that Joe Public can find this info out, she said navica2.net was a restricted Realtor only tool.
We are still holding out hope, but pushing 3 weeks UC is starting to make me wonder on this one...
Thank you for your reply,

AnswerI am not sure I am understanding your situation or your question, Christl. If it is what I think it is, just be patient. Your Realtor was correct, Christl. Just be patient. If you don't want to wait, just go out and find yourself another house you will like. Or have your Realtor do it for you. If you find one you like, then tell your Realtor to cancel the other one since you have not been informed as to whether you are the successful buyer or not. As long as you have not been informed, you may cancel at any time. I do wish you well.
