Buying or Selling a Home/question

Question
We put on offer to buy a home along with earnest money check. Our extended family member also interested to buy a home went to the same builder. The builder disclosed our offer price to him. Isn't this privacy policy breach. What are my legal
rights ? Please advise.

Answer
Karima;
I assume that the family member was buying another home that was the same size and asking price which would explain why the Seller would tell them what you had paid.  The reason the seller would do this is because he wanted them to understand that he was not accepting less than that price.  Perhaps the family member was implying that you had done better in what you offered.  Now for an answer to your question: Unless you stated that you did not want your offer disclosed there is no legal restriction for the seller. However, it is a little unethical to do so without checking with the Buyer first. The Seller should at a minimum disclose to the Buyers that they are doing this.

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
