Question
I have a realtor that I want to fire. We haven't signed anything but she has
shown us one property and referred us to a Brooker. She and I are just not
on the same page- I don't know how many more ways I can tell her want I
want and show her pics. Also a property I found and was interested in and
asked her to  get me more info on -she gave me false info on saying it was
already sold when it wasn't. I don't want to work with her anymore, she's
sloppy and not professional.

Thank you for your question.

This is not as uncommon as one would think when working with a Realtor. The one thing a buyer should remember is that the Realtor is about to earn a great deal of money for their efforts in representing you. For that commission, they owe you the respect as a buyer, their experience, negotiating skills, and due diligence to find you what you want under your terms and conditions.

Placing that little definition into the equation, if they fall short in any of those areas you have the right to change Realtors at any time without obligation, unless you signed a Buyer/Agent Agreement that may prevent you from working with another Realtor. In addition, any house you viewed with your current agent, and as a result you wrote an offer with another agent, it could be potentially contested with your new agent in a “Procuring Cause” claim. This should not involve you personally, as it would be between the Realtors offices if a claim was to be made. Depending on where you are located, state regulations would dictate on how that situation would be resolved, but remember this should not include your participation.

When buying a home, you don’t pay the commission, the seller usually pays. If that is the case, employ a Realtor who is considered the best in the business. It will save you time, money and a lot of headaches while going through the process of buying your home.
