Buying or Selling a Home/decieved

Question
I live in Louisiana and just purchased a mobile home from a private seller. This was my first time buying any type of home and it was obvious. I was told by the seller on multiple occasions that the roof had no leaks. It wasn't until a month after I purchased that a severe storm came through. I woke up to find wet floors, water leaking into windows and also wet ceilings. Not long after that the mold started to show. Also it was obvious that the ceiling had been painted where there had been mold before. Had to pay over 5 thousand dollars to completely fix the roof. Is the owner liable to pay for the repairs? Or am I just stuck?

Answer
Stephen...If you got a Federal Disclosure form signed, or used an escrow company, you will be ok. If not, you can go to court and file a fraud claim, but if the person is a "flake", they might not care...although the judge could issue a Judgement in your favor.  Sort of depends on what sort of paperwork you did.

fight for it!  Another good reason to go through a dealer!
