Buying or Selling a Home/Selling our home

Question
We are selling our house and were suppose to close on May 13, 2009, however, I spoke with the buyers agent today and they no longer wish to purchase the house because the neighbor spoke with them and told them that she had a vicious dog and it constantly jumps the fence and bites.  This is not true and I'm not sure why the neighbor would say that about her own dogs.  The buyers wanted us to put up a privacy fence or extend the fence and we said no because the dogs are not mean.  So because of that, our house sale fell through and we still have our house for sale when we were 2 days from closing.  Is there anything legally we can do against the neighbor for being vindictive and stopping our house from closing.

Answer
Dear Susan;
Since the neighbor caused the sale to fall apart (can you prove that?)you might have grounds for a lawsuit but it is not for me to say.  You need to consult an attorney to discuss your rights and how to proceed.

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
