Buying or Selling a Home/mobile home $8000 stimulas

Question
we have have an accepted offer on a hud home and we currently own a manufactured home in a mobile home park. we were told by the NOIC (lender) that we were not considered home owners because our home is not on a foundation, we rent the land instead of owning a lot and that our title which looks like a car title shows that it is titled as a motor vehicle even though it says manufactured home on it..we did get our title from the DMV,BMV. so we were told that we qualify for the $8,000 for first time home owners seeing the purchase is $90,000. now we are being told that we do not qualify because the rules of getting the stimulus credit says that if you have owned any kind of home including mobile homes that you are not eligible. then i saw on a blog somewhere that said if you own a mobile home on property you rent , not own, then you are not considered a home owner and that you qualify for the stimulus check. are we or are we not eligible. we have called realistate lawyers, accountants, our bank and our realitors and keep getting different answers.. we still have time to pull out but when we were told that we were eligible for the stimulus check we figured that in to our future security seeing that my job slows down every winter.   don't know who to believe. please help.

Answer
Bart....I don't know about rebates, but the word you are looking for is "real property".  If your home is NOT on a foundation, it is NOT real property.  This puts you in a totally different category for loan purposes.
I would look at your state's HCD link.  HUD doesn't do mobile homes any longer...wish I could help more...."~ M
