Question
QUESTION: follow up ? asked on adverse possession/ on 3/36.  does the owner have to evict,or just call the cops and have him removed ,keeping all property not removed that day?

ANSWER: Technically he's supposed to give you a 3-day eviction notice, but most police are not adhering to that and removing you and your belongings without notice.

Also if you're not there the owner could come in and remove your stuff and say you never even lived there.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: so thats a pretty risky thing to do? could even land you in jail?

Answer
I don't understand who you're saying the risk is for.  You can be arrested for being a squatter, I doubt any police will put an owner in jail for evicting a squatter.  I saw it happen right next door to me.  When the squatter left the house the bank rep moved a U-haul up to the door and loaded out the stuff and put it in storage, then changed the locks.
