Buying or Selling a Home/Real estate title

Question
Can a minor (17 yrs old) own real estate property in Ohio?

Answer
Anybody can own real estate and accept title transfer, Tina. It's just that they cannot legally transfer title to anyone until they are 18. I recommend you consult a real estate attorney to make sure whatever you are planning re: a minor owning real estate is done properly. Each state has its own laws on the subject. I do wish you well.

Expertise

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
