Question
Hello,
I have a small portfolio of residential investment rental properties.  I carry "landlord protector" type coverage on each, plus I have an umbrella policy an all properties, autos.  Is there a further type of coverage that helps protect against the litigious frenzy that exists out there today?

Thanks

Answer
Hi David,

Sounds like you're on the right track.  May want to consult a legal advisor to make sure you structure the ownership of your assets in the most "protective manner".   Think of the insurance as the "archer in the watchtower", and the LLCs, Trusts, etc... As your "castle walls and/or moat".  They each protect you, but work best together.   Make sure you use an advisor that understands RE investing.  John Hyre (www.realestatetaxlaw.com) is who I'd recommend.  Hope this helps.
