Buying or Selling a Home/Paid mortgage, need lender off title

Question
I just paid off my mobile home mortgage in Sunnyvale.  The lender provided no information on removing them from the title.  The Housing & Community Development Dept. phone number for this is busy 100% of the time.  I am registered owner and have lender's sign off on title.  How do I put myself as legal owner and remove lender?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Larry...their signing off is all you really need now, no need to actually have the name removed unless you really want to. HCD has notice of it's removal, and you could wait until some future sale, etc.

If you need it off now, go to CA. state website, HCD...locate the nearest office, and go there.  Probably $25 or so....may have a form online so you could fill out at home.

You're good to go no problem....good luck      "~ Mike
