Buying or Selling a Home/Selling Fire Damaged Property???

Question
Hello, I am 21 years old and feel way over my head!! I was given a house to me by inheritance 4 years ago. This past October I came home to see my front living room in flames. I am now attempting to sell this property and because of my age feel like people are trying to take advantage of me. I was offered $25,000 but then I took a look at my property value and just the land is worth $29,000!!! No clue what to do in this situation?????

Answer
Get yourself an experienced real estate agent to represent you.  That person will tell you up front what the property is worth and will represent you in any negotiations. Interview several agents to determine who you feel most comfortable with.  This person cannot also be interested in purchasing the property but must be your agent only.  It may be that because of the fire your property is worth land value only but your agent can tell you that.  Hope this helps.
