Buying or Selling a Home/mobile home comps for tax assessment

Question
Mr. McClure,
How do I get comps for my 1970 Fleetwood mobile home in Santa Rosa, Ca., and can I use them to reduce my property tax? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Em...you can ask for comps from a local dealer, however they may not co-operate. The State and county have their own formula for figuring taxes....a comp. estimate won't help you.
You could try going right to the county tax assessors office and question them, or maybe the website would help.

Good luck...."~ Mike
