Buying or Selling a Home/viewing other contracts

Question
I was wondering if you could tell me if it is possible to see all submitted contracts on a home after you have won the bid and closed on the house? The reason I'm asking is because I recently put an offer in on a forclosed home and even though the house has been on the market for months and no one has put an offer in, as soon as I put mine in they say they have 3 contracts and I need to resubmit with a higher number. Usually I wouldn't think anything of this, however this isn't the first time. It's the second time it's happened to me and it also happened to my sister. I would just like to protect myself from being ripped off by either the bank that owns the property or my real estate agent, which is why I would like to see other contracts to verify that others were actually bidding or if someone is just trying to fatten their bank account. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Answer
Good question, believe it or not this happens all the time, a property can sit with no activity for a long time. The time you think it is good to make an offer, offers come out of the wood work. It has happened to me many times. The other agent has no reason or right to show you other offers. The other offers are VERY PRIVATE, and agent better keep it that way. If you have the winning offer who cares, you now are in the drivers seat. I would move on and close the property, and if you question your agent, find a new agent.

As REALTORS we fall under careful ethics and standards. I hope this helps and answers your question. Good luck.
