Buying or Selling a Home/First Time Home buyer

Question
Hello Dottie,

I have a rather unusual question. I went into the home buying process in
April of 2010. I found a house, and really saw the potential in it, and fell
in love; and entered into a binding contract. Well the lender that I was
working with dropped the ball, and I ending up missing out on it at that
time. A month has passed and now I am going through the process to
purchase the same home with a different lender. Can the initial contract
hold, and possibly be amended? This way I can also qualify for the tax
credit. I will be ready to purchase by the end of the month. Please clarify
for me the facts.

Thank you

Answer
I would say ask the lender. You should be able to use the contract you had. But since this administration changes the rules on a daily basis, it is hard for anyone to know the correct answer, since they don't know the correct answer. Try it, there is nothing wrong with it!
Good luck!
