Buying or Selling a Home/excluding persons from agents commission

Question
My Brother and I wish to sell a house we inherited.  I told the agent I wanted the contract to state, if we are unhappy w/ offers and one of us wants to "buy out" the other, or "quit claim" in leiu of selling, we would pay a set paperwork fee, to agent , instead of full commission.  She said she never hears of this and declined.  Am I asking too much?

Answer
Hi Michael...I guess that particular agent doesn't need the business!
I don't know the state you are in, but I write clients' desires on contracts all the time.
Remember, I do mobile homes in California, not real property.

You are the "boss", and good agent will do what you ask and sell the home for the benefit of all parties. Plenty of other agents around...interview them to find the one you can communicate best with.

Good luck,  "~ Mike
