Buying or Selling a Home/Housing Development Project

Question
Where would be the best places to begin listing a housing development project for sale? Some houses already built and occupied, with more in various stages of planning and completion. We are looking for relatively low-cost, although preferably free options, at least to start.

Answer
Dear Ayla;
Since I am a Realtor, I would naturally say that you should list the homes and development with a brokerage who will then market the development for you.  The cost is a commission for each home sold but that is usually included in the price of the home.  The amount of time, energy and trouble saved is worth it!

If you choose to do this without a brokerage, then you need to list the development on the various free websites, advertise in the newspaper, and target mail ads.  There is cost to this and I can only say that the results are minimally effective on your own.  You can also try putting up signs and holding open houses.  Some developments are easily seen from main highways and roads so this may be all you need to do.  An email blast is a very reasonable alternative as well.

Best wishes,

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
