Hello,

I am buying a house and my name is on the mortgage but the title will be recorded under my name and my boyfriend. I am having second thoughts and I want my name only on the title. I have closing in two days. Is it too late to make changes? What will be the implications?

Answer
Call the closing attorney right away to advise them.  It should be something that is explained to both of you along with notification to the lender. I don't know what the arrangement was...whether your boyfriend was paying rent and if you qualified based on this.  The lender will be able to speak to this as well.  My opinion is that it is never too late until you go to closing and sign on the dotted line.
