Question
QUESTION: We have a home on Cape Cod but want to retire out of the country...the selling market at the moment is not good so we thought about selling or renting to the state for Section 8 or companies that furnish homes to disabled people...we have no idea how to do this...can you help.

ANSWER: What you need to do, Bunny, is to contact two or three trusted real estate management companies in the area of your property and present them with what you would like to do. You will finally settle on the company to hire by their response and knowledge. I do wish you well.

QUESTION: Are these management companies listed in the yellow pages as management companies and not real estate agents and as they expensive?...we are still out of the country.

Answer
Yes, usually real estate management companies are listed in the yellow pages in such a category, Bunny. But be aware that NOBODY will take care of your property better than you will. So, in your hunt for such a company, you might want to ask around and see what kind of results other property owners have had. The cost will vary. Some agents/companies may charge 10% period. Others may collect the deposit and first month's rent and then somewhere around 6 or 7 percent of the monthly rent. Like I said, there will be variations on the fees that are charged. Be well.
