Buying or Selling a Home/realtor ethic code

Question
My Realtor lowered my asking price by 100 thousand dollars without my knowledge. As per the ethic code 12-4 she is not aloud to do this. I don't think I can now go back and ask for my original price. Is there anything I can do??
Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Linda,

You are not unnecessarily out of luck... my suggestion is to go and see her broker manager... you are correct she can not do this without permission if you signed a contract at $100,000 higher and have no modification of terms or e-mail to the effect that you are agreeing to what she did.. she is in breach of her contract with you... you have the right to cancel the listing...  let the home rest a couple weeks and find a way to do a grand re-open... perhaps also re-stage the property so online it looks different... a good realtor can assist you with this re-marketing of the property...

You should do so (cancel the listing), and find an realtor who you can work with, you trust and you feel is doing right by you...and a good track record with sellers, not a buyers agent... there is a difference...they don't have to sell 100's per year 12-20 is a good number.. if you need a referral I have associates across the US so don't hesitate to let me know....

Good luck.... but no matter go and see her broker... the brokerage should know about this...  be strong...
