I was in Hightstown, NJ 08520 yesterday looking at a new home construction that I was interested in. Someone suggested that I must take a tour around the area to see how it looks, etc. To my surprise, I'd noticed that there were a lot of houses in the area that are up for sale. Base on your knowledge, experience, & expertise, what is happening? Is there something wrong with the area or community? I'm skeptical & I'm not having a very good feeling about the area now. Please advise.
Answer You are smart to be skeptical at this point. You have not looked around enough. Whoever suggested that you tour around the area was doing you a big favor. If you act too anxious to buy a house you may regret it. A lot of for-sale signs in any particular area is a red flag. If you need help looking around, I recommend a good and knowledgeable Realtor to help you get familiar with the best areas. Who knows? Maybe that person will show you a good deal or two. Just keep in mind this is a BUYER's market. Do NOT be in a hurry. The market favors you. I do wish you well.
With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot.
