Buying or Selling a Home/remodeling, resale

Question
We own a typical 1 1/2 bath split level home with a 5x8 bathroom.  Toilet and vanity on same wall. We have what I believe is called a Jack and Jane bathroom: one door off bedroom and other off hallway.
Now questions:
1. Would putting the vanity on the other wall, eliminating bedroom door affect future resale?  We've been told that this door gives the illusion of a master bath...If we do eliminate door, the size of our bedroom closets would be reduced.
2.Would eliminating the tub, just having a shower, affect resale?

Thanks ever so much.
Lois

Answer
Sorry getting back so late, have been out of town.
My suggestion, is leave home as it was built, don't rebuild older home.... make updates to existing rooms, ie, bath rooms and kitchen, flooring and updates are hardware, fixtures, and appliances, counter tops, more important paint. Some, people replace doors inside, and windows,  most older homes have vented doors, and old sash single pane windows.. both show their age. Keep in mind they don't build them as they us too...
Good luck. Hope this was helpful.
