Buying or Selling a Home/Ref: question

Good day
If one wants to double check one's title and ensure that is is accurate, how does one do this.
Does one have to pay an expensive title company? If not what are ways one can do this his or herself.

Each county is slightly different, S. But not by much. You may go down to the county hall of records, or county recorder or maybe even online by calling up your county's recorder. They will ask you for your property's assessment number (or similar) and they will disclose to you in whose name the property is. Very simple, S. Just consumes a little time. I do wish you well.

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
