Buying or Selling a Home/Seller Cancellation


My husband and I listed our house a week ago.  We are debating if we should keep it on the market (too long of a story why!).  If we withdrew it prior to any bids or at point a bid offer was made but not accepted yet,o we owe the agent(s) a full or partial fee?  Might a "bidder" sue us for doing that (even if we didn't accept the offer?)   This is the state of CT - I realize laws might state to state.

You need to fully read your contact to see what if any if due the agent, they may or may not allow you out of the contract, but you most certainly do NOT have to sell your home.  A brokerage may keep the contract through term to be sure you don't scoot off to a different company and try to sell there...

But what ever you decide to do, do it sooner than later, as offers arrive and people become 'vested' you stand to risk more.
