Buying or Selling a Home/Buyer Squatter???

Question
Mr. McClure,

I recently sold my father's mobile home to a lady who put $15,000 down and agreed in writing to pay $500 a month (no interest) beginning December 1, 2007. She has failed to pay and is ignoring / not returning phone calls. I spoke with her daughter in person the other day and reminded her that her mother signed a written agreement, and asked her to have her mother call. But no call. I did speak with the park manager who stated that space rent is current so far.

Does the eviction process apply in this case? How do I collect, or reposess the mobile home?

Thank you in advance for the information you provide.

Don

Answer
Hi Don....depends on where you are, what your contract says, and what clauses you had included in the agreement.  All legal stuff that is beyond my expertise....today is the 17th, so she's a couple of weeks late.  Maybe a personal visit to start the deal off right....sorry I can't help more.  These things are always better off done by people who know the business....good luck.    MM
