Buying or Selling a Home/How Can I Check?

Question
Thank you very much for your quick reply. I gave you 10 for everything.

If you don't mind me asking one more question, I am not sure how I can check the other sales so I can compare. Should I go to the local realtors?

Thanks again

Eric

Answer
HI Eric,

Thanks for your new question.

Are you looking at property without the aid of a Realtor/Buyer Agent?  They are able to supply you with up to date sales statistics for properties in the area you area contemplating buying.  They can show you trends in valuation.  If the airport has halted appreciation, the statistics would show it.

You can also check on your own at municipal records.  This is much more tedious and the information is delayed to some extent due to human processing from one layer of record keeping to another.

Best bet is to find an Acredited Buyers Agent to investigate for you.  Multiple listing records are up to the minute.  Ask to see some comparable available properties and review some of those that have recently sold.

To me it sounds like a good investment as rental property.  As a single family primary residence it may not be such a good idea as what you have described sounds like a growing commercial district.

Let me know what happens.

I am able to answer questions related to buying or selling residential real estate in New York. There are many questions buyers and sellers have about the process of buying or selling a home that they are afraid to ask or that might seem too simple to ask. For instance: in a house, why do some doors open in and some doors open out?
