Question
my mother bought a home for sale by owner about 8 years ago and when the owner wanted to sell her home he found a  company that would finance  her and her husband. From what I understood there was some paper work that needed to be turned by the owner of the house during the time of the purchase so that  my parents payment history could be applied to there  credit however the owner of the home never turned in the  paper work so now my parents never received credit for the payments. My question is, Is there anything that we can do about this?

Answer
I am sorry, but your question is confusing to me; the personal pronouns are the reason.  I gather, hopefully correctly, that your Mother used a mortgage company that was referred by the original owner, and that mortgage company made them a loan.  Your Mother should have copies of her payments or receipts, and that should be submitted to the mortgage company.  If that mortgage company closed down, then there should be another company that took over their laon.  There has to be somebody to have taken it over, and notification should have been given.  There should be a name and number for the company on the last loan payment statement.  I cannot offer assistance if you do not know even the name and loan number of the lender.  That is imperative paperwork every borrower should be keeping track off.  Hope this helps!
