Buying or Selling a Home/Mobile Home Title

Question
Six years ago we started buying a large double wide mobile home which is located on our acreage in Nevada.  We never got a title for it yet, because we are still paying on it.  Do we have a right to request a copy of the title from the seller?  I ask this because the sales contract states its actually newer than what our insurance company will insure it for.  Also we found a date on the mobile that says its older.  I'm wondering now if the seller even has a title to it.  Thank you for any help you can give me.

Answer
Whoever has your loan has the title. Just like your car. When the car is paid off, you get the title from the loan holder. Same goes for the mobile home. Your mobile home, technically, is controlled by the department of vehicles. If it is attached to the land, then it becomes real estate. But as long as it is NOT on a cement base or something permanent, it is still a vehicles. It is the lender's responsibility to give you the title to the mobile home upon full payment of that loan.

I wish you well.
