Hello Michael,
I am considering purchasing a mobile/manufactured home, as I won't be able to afford a 'regular' home in California. My question is: How can I find out what Mobile / Manufactured Homes cost when they were first new in let's say 1994 to 1996? I just want to see if they are selling for the same price now or has their price gone up? gone down? Thanks for your reply.

You didn't say what area in CA., but that info you seek, is probably not available.
Having been around in those years, I can say that at the end of the 90's prices "spiked", then dropped for a few years.  The last 2-3 years have been very active, with prices rising constantly. (like double in some instances)
Of course space rent has to be factored in, as this determines the desirability of the park, and price of the home.
I do have access to comp. listings which give the prices of the past 2 yrs sales, but they are for dealer use only.
