Buying or Selling a Home/New Home Purchase
Expert: Dottie Worthington - 12/9/2005
QuestionI'm looking to buy a new home by May of 2006 in or near Humble, Texas. Do you have any advice or tips as what to do or what not to do? This is my first time buying a home and I don't want to do anything stupid! I'm looking for a home for my wife and I in the $175,000.00 range and preferably a new or close to new home over 2400 S.F. with 4+ BR's and 2+ Baths. I know this is pretty vague but if you have any ideas or tips I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Landon
AnswerDear Landon:
You have taken the first step, and that is asking for help. Buying your first home can be overwhelming! You need a good Realtor and a good mortgage officer if you are going to be borrowing money. You should find an experienced Realtor in the town you are buying in, and let them represent you. They can walk you through the process. Go to our website and there is lots of info for the first time buyer on there. If you like I can locate a Realtor in your area.
