Question
I have a person who is interested in buying my townhome.  I would like to do it privately to minimize the costs.  He will be getting financing for the home.  Is there a way to get this done where we can do this solely between us or will there be conflict do to financing involved?

Answer
Hi Joan,
Thank yo for your question.

Since you already have a buyer you are ready to go.  They should supply you with a bank preapproval letter for the purchase price.

Take this and their names to your lawyer and have a contract drwan up for them. Your attorney will send the contract to their attorney for signing and then the rest is up to the buyer to get the mortgage commitment.

Sounds easy.  Good luck.

There are many questions buyers and sellers have about the process of buying or selling a home that they are afraid to ask or that might seem too simple to ask. For instance: in a house, why do some doors open in and some doors open out?
