Buying or Selling a Home/Sale of Realestate in PA

Question
Is it against the law in the state of Pennsylvania to sell a property without and Agreement of Sale signed by both parties?

Answer
No, Michele, I am sure PA does not have a law that says you must have an Agreement of Sale to sell real estate. However, the AOS usually covers all the topics and subjects you would need is buying/selling a property.

If you want to sit down and write out your own agreement, you certainly may, but you ought to be able to cover everything a purchase/sale should.

Whether you're the buyer or the seller, you will save yourself much anguish and money in the long run if it is handled by a professional who knows what bases need to be covered, even if you're buying or selling with a relative. I have seen too many family fights start when something is not in writing or done improperly. Go see a real estate attorney if you don't want to approach a real estate agent.

I do wish you well.

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot.
