Buying or Selling a Home/Seller's title insurance?

Question
Hello,
I purchased title insurance when I bought my current house approximately 2.5 years ago. I am now about to sell it. This is in Florida, by the way. Do I have to buy title insurance AGAIN or does the insurance I originally bought still cover me for the sale of the home?

Answer
Yes, but you can ask for and receive a discount. The buyer will want title insurance anyway. The buyer or title company has no way of knowing that you may have incurred an additional liability on the title, even if it was yesterday.

I do wish you well.

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
