Buying or Selling a Home/VA LOAN GUIDELINES

Question
I'm currently in the USAF and I'm stationed in Korea. As of May 2007 I'll be stationed in Hampton, Virginia. I'm trying to buy a house with my VA loan. I researched this before and I was told that I have to be in VA and part of the household to use my VA loan but what if I give power attorney over to my mother and father, can they buy a house for me?

Answer
I have never had a similar question posed to me before, Shannon. I have sold many, many VA homes, but not once has a power of attorney been discussed. I recommend you talk to the officer in charge of this kind of matter or write a letter to St. Louis where you got your DD214 and ask that question.

I do wish you well.

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
