Buying or Selling a Home/Vacant property insurance

Question
You answered a question in regards to this before, but where do you find the brokers.  We have a vacant house that insurance is being dropped, while it is on the market. We can't find anyone who will even tell us of an agency to go through.  Do you have a contact list of insurance brokers we could contact, we need coverage for a house in North Carolina.

Answer
Do not go to the big companies (State Farm, Allstate, etc.) You should consult with an independent insurance agent. This agent has access to many insurance companies and does not have allegiance to only one. Certainly one of them should be able to come up with coverage. But as I said before, it is not going to be cheap. Not by a long shot.

I do wish you well.

Expertise

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
