Buying or Selling a Home/abandoned home

Question
There is an abandoned home I have my eyes on for sometime now in Schuyler County. What & where do i have to go/do to inquire about this home to possibly buy it?

Answer
HI Tori,

Thank you for your question.

All you have to do is visit the town/village/municipal hall where the building department and tax department are and they have record of the current owner.  Then you can try to make contact.

If you don't want to do the work ask a Realtor who is a buyer's agent to help you.  It is like detective work.

Good luck.

I am able to answer questions related to buying or selling residential real estate in New York. There are many questions buyers and sellers have about the process of buying or selling a home that they are afraid to ask or that might seem too simple to ask. For instance: in a house, why do some doors open in and some doors open out?
