Buying or Selling a Home/A bad realtor

Question
Our realtor won't help us. We have an offer and have agreed to it and the buyers agent wants to meet our agent and he is stalling. He does not return calls from us or the other agent-the buyers are saying thay are going to drop their offer if he doesn't get moving. We called him and told him and he argued with us about setting up a meeting. He actually hung up on my husband saying that we better speak nicely to him. We have 7 more months on a contract with this guy-he has been most unhelpful from the start and never keeps his word-HELP!!!
                    Sincerely,
                    Jane Murdorf

Answer
Based on what you have written, Jane, I wouldn't wait one more minute and send his company a notice via certified mail (not him because he will tear it up) that your listing is no longer effective and state why. And that you are hiring another real estate office (you may get reluctance from any other office). If they give you trouble, you are then taking the matter to a REAL ESTATE attorney and sue them for the money you will lose by not accepting the offer or you are taking the matter to the local Board of Realtors (he is violating several tenets of the Realtor Code). The attorney will explain. Maybe even have the attorney handle your transaction.

You must show that you are not going to be pushed around, Jane. I do wish you well.

Expertise

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
