Question
Hi,

I am a junior in college and am currently taking a real estate class.  I am interested in obtaining a real estate selling license for California.  I was wondering if you knew:

What the license entitles me to?

What I would actually have to do to sell real estate? (Like get with a broker?)

Would you recommend me getting a real-estate license?

Thank you so much,

Nick

Answer
Dear Nick,

Having a real estate license will allow you to represent others in the purchase and sale of real property and accept compensation for it.
Once you have gotten your salesman license you will have to work under the auspices of a broker.  Most companies have training programs for new licensees.
If you are prepared to work 7 days a week and forgo the certainty of a regular paycheck real estate can be a good career with much potential.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
