Question
the property i am about to buy in new jersey has a green card that can be transferred, do i still need to get the certificate of occupany

Answer
Sorry, Shawn. You got me stumped. First time. The only green card I am familiar with is the document a foreigner receives to work here in the U.S. As to how it applies to a property, I do not know. I recommend you ask your nearest broker/manager at a Century 21 or other large office. As for the C of O, you always need one before you are allowed to occupy a property. I wish you well.

Expertise

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot. Also, ask about my hard-copy newsletter, The Landed Gentry. It can also be sent to you via PDF.
