Buying or Selling a Home/kitchen question

Question
Hello, I have a simple question - what exactly is a "country kitchen"?  I see this listed as a desirable feature in ads for houses for sale but am not sure what it means. Thank you!

Answer
Hi Sally,
Thanks for your question.
A country kitchen is a kitchen that is combined with the typical dining room into one bigger room leaving no formal dining room.  Many people do not like to buy houses like this because they feel a formal dining room is more traditional.  The country kitchen is more American western like the cowboys and the Cartwrights of the Ponderosa.

It is a statement of the way you like to live.

I am able to answer questions related to buying or selling residential real estate in New York. There are many questions buyers and sellers have about the process of buying or selling a home that they are afraid to ask or that might seem too simple to ask. For instance: in a house, why do some doors open in and some doors open out?
