Michael, Hi not sur if you remember me. I was talking to you before about my mother trying to see her double wide taht was on a foundation in Pa. So far no luck the persons that she had before looking at it have backed out or couldn't get the money. She has witha realator but that will be up shortly. They have told us that the title is retired but she won't get the money out of the property that it is appraised at due to it being built a year prior to the new specifications  for HUD. One of the HUD persons she spoke with advised she may want to get an engineer in to look at the house and see if he could tell them whether or not the house is up to todays specs.  DO you know any thing about this?  thanks for your help again.

Hi Tammy, just typed you a long letter about this, but lost it while spell checking.
Basically, an inspection is a good idea.  She should contact HCD, Housing and Community Development.  They will charge a small fee for coming out($60-70), and sign off on the home if it is OK.
The HCD took over all titling from HUD, so this might be what they mean by retired title....because that's not really possible, unless someone scrapped it.

Get a mobile home sales co. this time....that's usually all they sell. Realtor's usually are not familiar with this speciality business.....good luck.    "~ M
