Buying or Selling a Home/mobile home repos

Question
Hi, I have a ranch in So Cal and I am looking for a 1999 or newer mobile home that I can move to my ranch for a care takers home, I need to have a single wide 16x80 that needs to be moved off where it is so. I was thinking about forclosure or repo in the states of NV, AZ, or CA but can't find where to look, any help would be great, thanks for your time, Rob

Answer
Hi Rob...Repos are rare now-a-days, and usually NOT good deals anyway. I am a dealer, and also look for them...occasionally buy one, and resell it where it sits.

I represent to major manufactures: Skyline homes, and Palm Harbor.  You could order whatever you want to replace the home that's on there now.

Don't forget permits...you didn't say which county you live in, but some are very fussy.  Another aspect of this deal is the transport from point A to point B....not cheap!
Also the removal of the old home, and set the base for the one coming in.

So what I'm saying in a "nutshell" is the repo idea does not sound cost effective, as dealers would buy the homes to resell, or pull-out to put in new ones.
New homes are not that expensive, and built totally different than years ago.   Be happy to help you with this, so let me know what you want to do.

You might want to look around at skylinehomes.com, but there are too many different models to show everything.

Thanks, Mike
