Question I purchased a 1977 mobile home from the owner. I have never bought a home before. I only have rented. She gave me the title and that was it. As far as I new the home was paid off. I went to secretary of state to transfer it and the previous owner never transfered it into her name. Luckily I new how to find her. So she took it up there to put it in her name first and they told her that she needs to go to the bank and get something saying the mobile home is paid off. She did and the bank said that they can not give her what she needed because it is not paid off. She doesn't even no how to get ahold of the owner before her. I have no idea what I am suppose to do now. I technically don't own the home i thought I did. It might help if you know I live in Michigan. The owner before me lived here for about a year and claims she forgot to transfer the title. I have been here for about 3months now.

Answer Had you used a real estate agent or a real estate attorney, you would not be in the spot you are in now. Now you gotta rescind the transaction and have her return you money. Let her mess around with the title. While she is still around, you should get your money back now. You bought the property expecting full title. You didn't get it. Therefore, it is up to her to prove in court that it wasn't a scam.
