Buying or Selling a Home/net estimate way off

Question
I recently sold my home and my realtor estimated that I would receive between 10 and 15 thousand....due to her miscalculations I ended up with a grand total of $700 while she received here full commission of over 21 thousand...is there anything I can do about this?

Thank you,
Jody Carroll

Answer
Based on what you said, Jody, sounds like she's running a scam. In real estate, if it is not in writing, it was never said. With that in mind, she can deny anything you said she said to you, and you have nothing to fall back on. Whatever she said should have been in writing.

I suggest you contact a local REAL ESTATE attorney and tell her/him your story. My guess is that he will force your agent to refund some of her commission.

I do wish you well, Jody.

With more than 41 years as a real estate broker, I can solve most any problem presented. If I can`t, I do my research. Problems with mortgages, trust deeds, foreclosures, odd ways of conveying titles. Most any good Realtor can answer questions satisfactorily, but I answer questions that most cannot.
