Buying or Selling a Home/real estate agents

Question
Hi. How many clients should a real estate agent, new or experienced, deal with at one time? How many deals do most real estate agents close in one year? I mean, what is considered successful?

Answer
Hi Danielle;
It all depends how many clients one can handle efficiently.  If you are experienced and can juggle 5 or 6 a week--terrific!  If not, reduce your load.  If you find that you are overwhelmed by your work load--you are handling too much and it is time to get an assistant.  As for how many deals one does...again, it depends on price point and amount of work required.  What is considered successful for one is not for another.  If an agent sets the goal of making $100,000 per year and achieves or even exceeds the goal, then this is success.  If the goal is higher--like $500,000 / year then this is obviously a high goal to achieve but would in most markets be considered highly successful.  How about logging on to a website after doing a search for Realtors and seeing some of the success stories.  Many advertise in Realtor Magazine.  (If you can believe what you read).

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
