-----Question-----
We have a 1975 villa west mobile home. We own the home but not our land. We are moving and want to sell the home. I
doubt it can be moved because it is so old but are there people or companies that buy and move them? The landowners are going to get rid of it but we would like to try and sell it if possible.

Hi Jody....tell me if you are in Calif. These things fall under the Housing and Community Development's authority.
Is the park demanding that you remove the home?
Your home would be sellable, but I need to know the state, space rent, park's opinion, condition of the home.
Get back to me, so I can get you headed in the right direction....

Hi Mike,
Yes I am in So. Cal in the Woodland Hills area. We have 10 yrs left on our lease and the park is buying us out of it.
We were planning to leave the home behind because we have been told it would be too expensive to move it and that it was too old. The park will be removing it once we are gone.
We have the option to sell it and have it moved if we like
but we just have no idea if that is possible or who we would contact for such a service. Do people buy them for
parts and such or is that too expensive of an undertaking
for such an old home? I hope I have given you enough info.
If not, let me know. Thanks for your time and expertise.
Jody
AnswerOK...what kind of a price is the park offering you for the home? Is the park continuing to exist? Your home is not worth anything, and moving would not be cost effective anyway
If the space rent is low enough and it is a desirable park, find a new home dealer, (go to Skyline or Palm Harbor's website) they will refer you to a local dealer. Tell them you want to "cash out" of your home, and they can put in a new one. I jump at the chance when this is presented to me here in the So. Bay! "~ M
