Buying or Selling a Home/No trailer title

Question
I recently e-mailed you about the trailer house I purchased, it was paid off over 5 months ago. I asked the landlord of my trailer court for the title, he told me I had to pay the tax's first, I found out at that time that this house is not in his name. He told me he would take care of it, now he tell's me I have to pay this years tax's before I get the title. Yesterday I received notice I have to move my trailer out of the park. My question is this, Do I have to pay my lot rent for the 4 months he gave me to move? If I do I will not have the funds to move on. I live on a very limited income and he is already causing me and my child a hardship he knows we can't handle. Also, can he make me move because he wants the space for his son to live? Thank you again for your time, Kathleen

Answer
If he is the landlord (owner) of the property on which your trailer rests, he can ask you to leave anytime as long as he is not violating a written lease.

Apparently you do owe taxes for this year so you may as well pay them. If he has given you four months to move, yes, you should pay the rent (one month at a time) as you have been doing. If you can show him a receipt for paying the taxes and send a copy in with the next month's (Sept.) rent, then maybe he will give you the title to the house you are asking for.

Take care.
