Buying or Selling a Home/using the internet to sell land

Question
A friend asked me if I could try to sell a piece of land for him on the Internet. The land is in Destin, Florida and faces the Gulf of Mexico, called the Emerald Coast (the most beautiful beaches in the world!). I searched some sites and read a bit about it. From the scattered information I gathered, it looks like a lot of work to set up a web site to sell one piece of land. Is there a way to do this (or a site with good, step-by-step information) that will not take too much effort on my part? I know the land is real, and he is a good friend, but I do not want to spend hours and hours sitting at my computer doing this.

Answer
Dear Betty;
Spending hours and hours to set up a website is not necessary to sell the land.  Try lisitng it on ebay.  It is very easy to do and takes no time at all. If you have ever sold anything on ebay you know that there are step by step instructions and even though ebay has the reputation of being an auction site, you can have a minimum bid and not sell the land unless the minimum is met.

There are many other websites that are available as for sale by owner sites as well, but the fees can be higher.  You can look into
http://www.uspropertyadvertiser.com
http://www.byowner.com/index.html
and http://www.fsboadvertisingservice.com/
as well.

Make sure that you have some good photos to post to make the land look as appealing as it sounds.
Good luck and good profits!

Experience

Anyone who is in this business and who dedicates oneself to professionalism has continued to take classes and along with it,additional credentials, awards and honors. I can list a host of them, but my greatest accomplishments happen to be those of getting first time buyers (who didn't think they could afford to buy a home)into a home of their dreams. The look on their faces when I hand over the keys is worth all of the hard work.
