Dear Gerry:  All real estate agreements and contacts must be in writing.  Get a real estate attorney to support your position as 50% sounds unreasonable.  You may feel you owe him your move in costs, but that is a decision between you and your attorney.  Seek estate planning advise too so that you can get your will in order and include whom you wish and exclude whom you wish.  KARYN FOLEY
