Buying & Selling Thru Ebay & Other Auctions - Two Big-time Sites

Question
Hello,

Which site is better for selling items: Craigslist or Ebay? Thanks!

Answer
Hi, it depends on what you are selling. Craigslist is great for large items like furniture or exercise equipment that may be difficult to ship. eBay is better for an ongoing home business where you sell consumer products over a long period of time.

eBay has a larger worldwide audience, and Craigslist is meant for the local community.

Craigslist is better for one time events - such as when you are moving and need to clear out alot of items quickly. Since Craigslist is for the local community, buyers will come pick the items up from you.

eBay is more methodical and takes longer to offload your items since the items must be shipped to the customer.

I hope that helps!
